I have been putting a lot of effort into changing my life. I have done my best to take what I have gone through, what I have learned, and what I am currently practicing on to paintings. Hopefully, it resonates with people and sparks connections and conversations. So I am sharing for the first time the finished acrylic paintings. I am sharing the descriptions of these paintings and the meaning behind them. I hope you enjoy and share this video. #Veterans #Art #acrylicpainting #PTSD #recovery
These two paintings are a profound visualization of things I am struggling with in my life. Nothing is easy but I am doing my best to make sense of it and navigate through the pain. I especially owe a great deal of #gratitude and appreciation to my wife and children. Not only have they been patient with me doing my art but also participated in many ways. Spell checking, opinions, and even helped create some of the items used. So without them, it would have been a hot mess. Going through these things and practicing these things I mention in the painting is hard but it gave me #hope and #confidence to try. When the system let me down, when the system I turned to tried to direct me down a dark path of prescription meds, when faced with rock bottom and death you have to make a choice. The easy choice is usually the most painful, the free choice is usually the most beneficial to the person providing it. The difficult choice is facing facts, facing difficult choices, and circumstances. The difficult choices take consistency and practice. So I’m not here to judge anyone, I’m not here to fluster anyone’s beliefs or lifestyle. I am here to just spread the message of hope and #love. At the end of the day when faced with our dying moments the only thing we take with us into the darkness of our mind is hope and love. So find what brings hope and what gives a sense of love. I hope you enjoy the #paintings and share this post. #Veteran #art
